Brookfield, Wis. – The National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA) is pleased to announce the names of the 153 funeral homes that have earned a 2013 Pursuit of Excellence Award. The Award is presented annually to firms that have demonstrated a commitment to raising the bar on funeral service excellence by adhering to strict ethical and professional standards and providing outstanding service to families and communities.

During "The President's Reception" on Tuesday, June 18, 2013, Grant Bolt, General Manager of Milward Funeral Directors was elected as the Central District Director for FDAK. Formally established statewide in 1882 as the Kentucky Undertakers Association, the Funeral Directors Association of Kentucky now has a membership of more than 500 firms and associate members. Its mission is to promote high professional ideals and strong public service. In 1947, after years of effort to establish a fiscally sound burial insurance plan, the Kentucky Funeral Directors Burial Association was formed.
