Description

This is Tamiya Pink Panther Land Rover Kit with 106mm Recoilless Gun from Academy M151 kit. The only reason I used this gun is because the tripod width is adjustable, otherwise the AFV Club/Skybow Recoilless Rifle seems to be better detailed. Everything else is scratch-built from aluminum foil, wire, white styrene, color plastic chips and spare parts. I started the project without any clear plan in mind or on paper but it actually came out pretty good and was a lot of fun. I painted the model with Tamiya Acrylics and used Vallejo (which are great!!!), Testors and some other acrylics for detailing and weathering. I rubbed ground pastels with a brush or q-tip here and there. This model is inspired by this picture but I decided not to match it exactly for a lot of reasons one of which was laziness. I would like to thank Olivier Fouque, David Edwards and Clive Harman for responding to my questions on Missing Links discussion board and people who run REMLR and Anzac Steel web sites whose photo albums where a great inspirational and reference material!
