As a member of the Graduate faculty at Stony Brook University since 1981 and Director of the Long Island Marathon Psych Team, Dr. John Bowman has over 35 years of experience in training and supervising psychologists in Applied Sport Psychology. Supervision is available on both a case by case basis, as well as for AASP Certifification.

All coaches recognize the importance of mental toughness in competitive performance. While there are numerous resources for coaches on sport specific skill training and practice drills, there is a noted absence of Mental Training in coaching education. The Mind Plus Muscle Coachâ??s Workshops were designed to meet this need with a twofold approach: (1) to provide coaches with an overview of the most effective sport psychology strategies for improving performance and building team cohesion, and (2) to create a learning environment in which coaches can integrate mental training into their approach to practice and competition.

Over the past quarter century we have been dedicated to utilizing advances in Information Technology to develop innovative training approaches designed to share the benefits of Applied Sport Psychology with athletes around the globe.
