James Minter and Willard Ingram started J.L. Minter Electrical Contractor, Incorporated in 1963. The company was initially named Minter-Ingram Electrical Contractors and catered to mostly residential construction. In 1976 the two men parted ways and the company became J.L. Minter Electrical Contractor. Throughout the 1970’s and 1980’s the company focused more on the commercial service sector of the industry. Throughout the 1990’s the company continued to focus on service and new commercial work. Since the late 1990’s and into 2000 the company started taking advantage of the new technologies available. Roger and Bill gained knowledge and began utilizing autocad to produce “in-house” design-build documents for our commercial projects in order to reduce project cycle time and costs. In 2007 James fully retired. Roger and Bill; with over 65 years combined experience with J.L. Minter along with a number of loyal field employees, each with 20+ years of experience, are continuing the steady growth the company has achieved for nearly 50 years. In 2009 J.L. Minter Electrical Contractor was privileged to become a distributor/ installer for Secure Care Products, a leader in the design, manufacture, distribution and service of specialty electronic products for hospitals, nursery security, assisted living, long term care, sub-acute facilities and private homes to assist in minimizing risk to the loved ones they care for. We are proud of the level of trust our customers have placed in us in the past and look forward to serving each into the 21st century. In 2009 J.L. Minter Electrical Contractor was privileged to become a distributor/installer for Secure Care Products.
