West Coast Recycling Services dba Mission Recycling began doing business in Pomona, California in the spring of 2000. The company is run by owner and founder Al Solis. Mr. Solis, with over 25 years of experience in the recycling industry, is an innovative and experienced entrepreneur who introduced the single stream market concept to the industry. Al Solis first built United Glass Processors into a major processor before selling that firm to Container Reycling Alliance, a division of Waste Management. He then turned his expertise to Quality Paper Fibers and built that company into the largest processor in California. Quality Paper Fibers grew to process over 450,000 tons of material from over 110 municipal curbside recycling programs with annual receipts of over $45 million dollars before Mr. Solis sold the company to Waste Management.
