Missouri Life Incorporated in Boonville (about half an hour from Columbia) seeks an ambitious and talented Assistant Editor with one to two years experience (or will consider recent graduates with great experience) to grow with us. Missouri Life is a six times per year, four-color state magazine focusing especially on travel, leisure, and history. Our page count averaged 116 pages during this past year. Since this company revived Missouri Life in 1999, both the magazine and the company have experienced steady growth. The six times/year full four-color glossy, 22,000 circulation magazine has won many awards from the International Regional Magazine Association, including Magazine of the Year. Job Description Editorial quality is of primary importance to us. Position requires exceptional writing, editing, time management, and communication skills, as you will be both writing as well as working with freelancers around the state. You will be expected to write about six feature stories a year, as well as shorter departmental stories.
