Our History Moors & Cabot, Inc. was founded in 1890 by John F. Moors and Charles Cabot to handle the personal investments of the two founders and their friends. Over the last century, the firm has grown to serve the needs of thousands of investors, with branch offices around the country.Still operating from its original headquarters in the heart of Boston's financial district, the company has been a pillar of stability in the investment community. In fact, Moors & Cabot's chief executive officer, Daniel M. Joyce, is only the fifth CEO in the firm's long history.Moors & Cabot is the oldest independent member of the Boston Stock Exchange and one of the nation's oldest independent members of the New York Stock Exchange. Since its inception, the firm has participated in the retail sale of stocks and bonds to individuals and the institutional sale of stocks and bonds to most of Boston's money management firms.
