Dr. Robert L. Treft, MD is very excited about the new developments in refractive surgery and the ability he has to help so many people with the new technology that is now available. He is a board certified ophthalmologist who specializes in refractive surgery, no-stitch cataract, micro-surgical and laser eye surgery. Dr. Treft received his medical degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine, where he graduated with high honors and was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He completed his specialty training in ophthalmology at the University of Utah before leaving to open his private practice in Layton, Utah at the Davis Hospital and Medical Center in 1985. Dr. Treft is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Medical Association, and the Utah Medical Association. He remains an active member and past president of the Utah Ophthalmological Society, the Davis County Medical Society and the Davis Hospital and Medical Center. In addition to serving as a clinical assistant professor of Ophthalmology at the Moran Eye Center at the University of Utah, he is the director of the Mountain View Eye Center. Dr. Treft is a native of Davis county and enjoys living here with his wife, Terrie, and their five children. He loves helping people see the world more clearly. The Mountain View Eye Center has two experienced eye physicians and surgeons to serve your eye care needs. Both of our surgeons are fully trained in refractive surgery. They were among the very first to be certified to use either of the two FDA approved excimer lasers. In addition to being very skilled surgeons, both have performed the LASIK procedure on each other with excellent results. This gives them a unique approach and accurate understanding of the patient's perspective. They can help you with either the RK, AK, PRK or LASIK refractive procedures to help you see the world more clearly.Dr. Lamont Ericson has been practicing ophthalmology at the Mountain View Eye Center since August of 1996. Previous to this, he was acting Chief Resident at the University of California in San Diego where he supervised the teaching of ophthalmology residents at the Veterans Affairs Hospital, Shiley Eye Center, Thornton Hospital, and UCSD inner city medical center. During this time, Dr. Ericson consistently scored in the top 10 percentile of the OKAP exams (a national test used to compare all ophthalmology residents against their peers). He is also American Board of Ophthalmology Certified (an additional post ophthalmology training certification that includes 2 years of additional written and oral examinations). Dr. Ericson received additional training in photorefractive laser techniques at the world renown Jules Stein Eye Center at UCLA, and LASIK training through the Casebeer method.
