Cyndi and I would like to thank you for your interest in our farm tours. We have tried to make these touring programs as fun, interesting and most of all educational as we know how. Our goal is to provide you and your group with a close, hands-on look at farm life and it's facets. We want to impart a new appreciation of how important agriculture is to our everyday life. If children and adults are allowed to let farming in all its diversity become abstract or too far removed from our lives, they will take far too much for granted. Fruit, vegetables, milk, meat as well as grains and the by-products of these, do come from somewhere other than the store. Water conservation, controlling development of farm lands, crop rotation, soil conservation, wildlife habitat, land management tree planting and animal husbandry are very, very real concerns that do affect us all, either directly or indirectly, over the long term. We offer our farm as an example of a self-sufficient farm, employing 19th, 20th and 21st century tools and techniques to feed and provide for our needs. We are not a petting zoo, but we do have animals to pet! As this is an actual working farm, we ask that all visitors respect the safety instructions and be aware that you may be exposed to smells to which you are not accustomed. We strive to make your time here as safe as we can possibly make it, so please don't let these precautions deter you from this tour. Caution and awareness go a long way to insure an incident free visit. We want visitors to see, feel and experience as many things as we can. Our farm tours are designed to inform, entertain and instill an appreciation of the "How's" and the "Why's" of foods and a different way of life. Your group will see and learn about: - Bees and Honey -Poultry (Both egg flock and meat flocks of chickens, geese and turkeys)
