We are committed to providing community based options for the treatment of children with severe mental illness who require highly structured, intensive treatment. Our belief is that intensive structured services provided in the home increase the potential for a successful outcome. I.H.R.S. is a highly structured evidence-based treatment intervention that focuses on child/family stabilization. This program utilizes therapeutic approaches designed to strengthen coping skills and improve child/family functioning (e.g. CBT, Functional Family approach, Psycho-Ed, Case Management and Intensive Supervision). A comprehensive team approach is utilized. The treatment team is comprised of the case manager (referring agent), treatment providers, other involved professionals as well as the child and family. This approach allows for maximum flexibility in treatment to respond to the many challenges faced by the family and promotes active participation. The program places a strong emphasis on a treatment team/family approach.
