Muskegon Area First is your first stop for economic development services on the Muskegon Lakeshore. They are a countywide economic development corporation focused on leveraging public and private investment to accelerate business growth and the creation of high-quality employment opportunities in Muskegon County. Founded in 1999 by area business and governmental leaders, Muskegon Area First is the lead agency for economic development projects in the area.

1941 - The Chamber advocates for and celebrates the inaugural sailing of the Milwaukee Clipper to provide daily ferry service from Muskegon to Milwaukee. As a result of Chamber lobbying, Muskegon is given preference in the granting of government contracts. This Federal designation assists area businesses with expansions and leads them to reach record production at businesses such as: A. Harold Frauenthal's Kay-Don Engineering Corporation; Campbell, Wyant & Cannon Foundry, and Continental Motors.

Business Briefings are a monthly training event designed to provide Chamber members with business practices that will improve their bottom line. Selected Briefing topics and resources include the latest information in planning, management, finance & accounting, marketing/advertising and branding, etc.—presented by a variety of professionals with experience in the subject area.

1961 - The Muskegon Area Economic Planning and Development Association (MAEDPA) is founded to create and build a unified program for community businesses and industrial development.

We provide opportunities for you to talk to your peers in and outside your industry. It is especially important to talk to people outside your industry.
