About NaSPA, Inc. Scott Sherer founded NaSPA, the Network and Systems Professionals Association, in 1986. NaSPA originally stood for National Systems Programmers Association, but the name was changed in 1997 to reflect the evolving nature of IT.Throughout our 20-year history, NaSPA has continually provided its members with the foremost in services and benefits, including peer networking, member discounts, job placement, and technical information. NaSPA has provided members with Technical Support magazine since 1987, a comprehensive how-to publication focusing on mainframe systems, and since 2001 has also offered Network Support magazine, a resource for network and distributed systems professionals. NaSTEC, NaSPAs annual conference, allows members to meet face-to-face, attend educational sessions, and share ideas and issues that shape the IT profession.
