Carol Stevens and husband Daniel Stevens, decided to make a difference in the lives of people with intellectual disabilities and their families. Established in 1998, in Clarksville, TN, Nia Association has been a premier organization that continues to provide quality and caring personal care services, employment opportunities and affordable housing resources. Nia Association was created with a vision of compassion and economic development that has supported over 40 adults and youth. They choose whether to live in their family homes or move to a community-based, single family home acquired by Nia. All services are provided by thoroughly trained Direct Support Professionals on a 24-hour basis. Specialized care is administered in accordance with each client's Individual Support Plan. Some clients may receive 20 hours weekly in home "Personal Assistance" while others require "Supported Living" 168 hours each week. Nia is recognized as one of the leading employers in Clarksville, TN. Vision Statement Nia shall continue to fulfill the mission of providing quality disability support services for people with disabilities. We are committed to economic development via affordable permanent housing to meet the growing needs of military and civilian residents in Middle TN. Affordable Housing Programs for low to moderate income residents are utilized.

We are quite excited about the opportunity to provide exceptional services for the entrusted to our healthcare network. We anticipate new partnerships and collaborations as we meet these specialized needs of all DIDD persons supported.

We provide weekday supports that enable individuals to participate in meaningful and productive activities in the community. They have relationships with friends and family members. Support is geared toward training in personal care, development of needed skills and preferred vocational activities.

-We provide support staff for families who need emergency support, desired vacation time, or need temporary lodging for their family member with a disability.
