History & Experience Founded in 1989, Mary and Laddie Flock opened a new chapter in their lives, as well as in the rock industry. Leaving the usual business attire behind, the Flocks decided to leave the corporate world and pursue an American Dream…the opportunity of owning their own business. During the early years Natural Rock Formations, Inc. searched locally for unique stone. Thus, they began to experiment and see what can be done with stone. Without much heavy machinery, and with the power of human strength, they would begin the construction of their rock formations. As the years passed, their hard work and dedication finally began to pay off. Because of the involvement that Natural Rock Formations had with the rockscaping at the J. Paul Getty Museum, they were featured on the front page of the Wall Street Journal in July of 1995.
