Description

Historically, Nebraskans have built their livelihoods and communities one job at a time – primarily through small, family-operated businesses and farms. Many of today’s most successful business in Nebraska began many years ago as small locally-owned businesses. These microenterprises – with five or fewer employees – are the base of Nebraska’s economy. The Nebraska Microenterprise Partnership Fund does not directly serve businesses, but provides funding for programs that provide loans, training and technical assistance to businesses. The Nebraska Microenterprise Partnership Fund is a statewide financial intermediary dedicated to supporting microenterprise practitioners. In 1997 the Partnership Fund incorporated as a separate 501(c)(3) support corporation of the Nebraska community Foundation. The Partnership Fund became a certified Community Development Financial Institution in 1998.
