Nectir was established in 2011, by Abid Abedi, in response to changing staffing industry dynamics. Abedi's entry into the staffing industry began over fifteen years ago, when he founded Adea, Inc., a $140 million staffing and IT consulting corporation. In 2007, in a spin-off from Adea, Nectir's parent company, Managed Staffing, was established. Today, Managed Staffing is a nationally recognized corporation, providing staffing services to many Fortune 1000 companies and employing individuals worldwide.

Doug is an executive with over 20 years of experience in developing and executing growth strategies for technology services companies. Doug is responsible for strategy, franchise development and U. S. operations for Nectir. Previously, Doug served as Vice President with Allegiance Capital Corporation, a private investment bank where he lead merger and acquisition transactions and advised business owners of privately held companies through the M&A process. Doug also served as Chief Operating Officer at Handango, the world's largest mobile content aggregator.
