Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island is a not-for-profit HMO that was founded in 1994 to make sure everyone in our state has access to high-quality, low-cost health care. We’ve been ranked as one of the top ten Medicaid health plans in America for the past ten years* and serve nearly 140,000 members. In January 2014, we extended our great service, benefits and value to individuals and businesses through HealthSource RI – our state’s health insurance exchange.

Neighborhood is working with Long Term Care providers as we develop a network for these members. Below is some information that may be helpful to the Long term care providers involved with these members. Please also reference our provider manual section on Rhody Health Options that will have more detail for you.

Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island was founded in December 1993 by 13-community health centers in response to the initiation of RIte Care, the Rhode Island Medicaid managed care program. Neighborhood is a 501c3 organization with a 17-member board.
