Certified by the National Commission of Physicians Assistants in 1975. David Paulson has worked in internal medicine for over 35 years. He graduated from the University of Mississippi Medical Center Physician Assistant Program in 1974. David served 22.5 years in the Armed Forces. He retired from the U.S. Army in 1993. He is a Fellow, American Academy of Physician Assistants, a Member of North Carolina Association of Physicians Assistants, Past President of the Society of Army Physicians Assistants, Life Member of SAPA, and a member of the SAPA Hall Fame. David enjoys hunting, fishing and golf in his spare time. He is married, has three children and three grandchildren.

Renee Pope has been a nurse for over 30 years. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at Fayetteville State University and has a Masters degree in Nursing and Adult Family Nurse Practitioner from Duke University. She is board certified as a ANP and FNP. She is a member of the America Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She earned a Natropathic doctorate from Trinity College of Natural Health. She has worked in a variety of clinical settings including Mental Health, Medical/Surgical, Home Health, Cardiology and Internal Medicine. Her hobbies include studying holistic medicine, gardening and listing to classical music. She enjoys spending time with her husband, two daughters and one Chihuahua.

Julie Page Burnell graduated from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill with a Masters of Science degree in Adult Nurse Practitioner studies. She is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Mrs. Burnell is currently a member of the North Carolina Nurses Association and American Association of Nurse Practitioners. With 8 years nursing experience she has worked with neurology and pain management as well as cardiothoracic and vascular surgery. Ms. Burnell is married with two children. She enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.
