Nichols Diesel has been doing business in Central Florida since 1983. We began concentrating on the citrus market by brokering parts and engines. In 1984, our operation expanded into a small warehouse with a service manager, two mechanics, and two sales persons. In 1985, Florida was hit with the worst freeze it had seen in the last century. This caused citrus growers to sell their property. We changed our focus and began to do business with the US Government and the fishing industry. In 1988, we expanded once again and built a larger facility. In 1995, when the US Government began to cut back on contracts, we were forced to change our focus once again. We chose to focus on the truck and marine engine repair market.
