Nitrosyncretic Press was founded in 2000 on the foundations of the stillborn Anvil Press. Anvil Press was created as the launch vehicle for Robert A. Heinlein: A Reader's Companion , and as such was in limbo along with that project for several years.

The Heinlein Centennial was an entirely volunteer-driven event and no person or institution outside those providing commercial goods and services are compensated or remunerated in any way. Every member of the senior organizing staff paid his or her own way, including event registrations, hotel rooms and travel, as did many of the general event volunteers.

"Project Moonbase" (1953) This short (63-minute) movie has a peculiar history. In the early 1950's, Heinlein was working with producer Jack Seaman to create a new science fiction television show aimed at adults (the first-- all the others of the era were aimed at kids). The series was to be an anthology-style one like the later Twilight Zone and Outer Limits programs. Heinlein co-scripted some thirteen episodes, nine of which were based on some of his best-known short stories.
