Since starting the tour company Andrea has focused on philanthropic travel and the idea that travel can change the world and she is a volunteer executive director for Journeys Within Our Community ( www.journeyswithinourcommunity.org ), a non profit organization she and Brandon founded in 2005.

Crafting the trip of a lifetime has been our specialty since 1992, and our experience exploring Mongolia and beyond is rivaled by no other travel company. Our personable guides are professionally trained in the culture and natural history of Mongolia and our other destinations, and each is expert in the skills necessary for leading rewarding adventure travel. The promotion and protection of the environmental and cultural assets of the regions we specialize in – while benefiting the local economy and population in the destinations we travel to – are central to everything we do. All of our group itineraries (Cultural Journeys or Active Adventures) can be modified to fit your schedule, desired activity level and unique hobbies, or a new and original itinerary can be created for a one-of-a-kind adventure. Through organizing expeditions with an emphasis on the archaeological or historical, a trekking or horseback riding focus, meditational retreats and more, our company has forged strong relationships with naturalists, historians, scientists, and artists. Irkutsk, the largest city near the lake, was founded in the 1660s, and many historic buildings, including traditional wooden houses and Orthodox churches, survive from the days when it was known as the “Paris of Siberia.” Listvyanka, a charming lakeside village founded by 17th-century pioneers, attracts visitors with its museum of wooden architecture, Baikal Limnological Museum, and the famous Saint Nicholas Church. One of the many historic villages to explore along the shores of Lake Baikal, Listvyanka is situated near the source of the beautiful Angara River, among Siberia’s best kayaking destinations.
