Description

The project goal was to provide universal accessiblity to all floors in the town hall. It was accomplished by adding an elevator to the exterior of the building that is easily accessed by all floors in the building. An essential element for our client was to build the addition in such a way as to preserve the historical and visual integrity of the building. We were fortunate to work with an area architect familiar with the historical significance of the building. Work was completed without interruption of on-going municipal and judicial activities, while maintaining handicap accessibility.

North Woods Engineering is based in Saranac Lake, New York. We provide our clients with general civil engineering services including water system, sanitary, structural, foundation, and transportation design, as well as planning, design review, environmental permitting, and construction inspection services. Our engineering staff is skilled in the design of new construction, renovations, and expansions.
