The company began as a time-sharing service providing structural analysis tools for civil engineers. Time-sharing meant being able to dial into a mainframe computer and run complex programs along with many others performing similar tasks; none interfering with the other.Dr. Bill Rowan, a professor and department chair at Vanderbilt University, rented time on a mainframe in Atlanta, GA and resold it to engineering companies so that they could perform structural design analysis with software he had developed. Dr. Rowan recognized the importance of evolving technology that anticipated the internet, which in turn gave new meaning to the term on-line.Over the past three decades a natural evolution of development driven by client need and demand, resulted in the creation of MasterTools, a software solution developed to integrate the operations of small to mid-sized distributors and manufacturers. MasterTools is a cost effective, easy to implement ERP solution utilized by clients across the United States. Some industries supported by MasterTools include: Tier 1 and Tier 2 Automotive, Avionics, Packaging, Toy Distribution, and Building Supply.
