Description

Cheryl began her career in 1970 as Secretary to the Branch Manager of Bituminous Insurance Company. She progressed to the Rating Department, learned Auditing and Loss Control, and finally became a Production Underwriter for the Company, working with many independent agencies such as ours. During this time, Cheryl obtained her Insurance License, her "INS"Certificate, and went on to study Chartered Property and Casualty ( CPCU ). In 1981, Cheryl joined her husband, Bob, to expand O'Connor Insurance. As Cheryl says, this is when her "education" really began-all phases of Personal Insurance, Life, Health, accounting, financial, and claims. The Business Insurance background proved invaluable in obtaining new clients, but being an agent was a great deal harder than working for the Company, as there are endless challenges in serving your clients best. And, there is much personal satisfaction when you succeed. Talk with Cheryl for about five minutes, and you will know that her first love is insurance and there isn't much she doesn't know about it. Cheryl now owns and operates the agency with her daughter, Karen O'Connor Corrigan. Together they manage the business "hands on". Karen O'Connor Corrigan Karen began her insurance career after attending University of Missouri-Kansas City. She worked in the claim office of State Auto Insurance Company. In 1985, she joined her parents at 0' Connor Insurance and obtained her Insurance License. Karen's experience includes Personal, Business, Life and Health Insurance, claims, marketing, production, and she excels at the application and interpretation of coverage. Karen is President of O'Connor Insurance. Together, Karen and Cheryl O'Connor operate and manage this agency with many years of experience. Karen earned her Certified Insurance Counselor ( CIC ) designation in 1999. She continues enhancing her insurance experience by actively participating in her memberships at The Society of Certified Insurance Counselors and Missouri Association of Insurance Agents. Karen also obtained her Community Insurance and Risk Management Specialist ( CIRMS ) designation from Community Association Institute ( CAI ). She has continuous experience with community associations through her active participation as a CAI member. Karen has served on the CAI Board of Directors for 6 years and served as President for 2 years. Russell Weber Russell has worked in the insurance industry since 1987. He has been with O'Connor Insurance since 1997, handling Business Insurance accounts. Russell takes pride in continuance of his insurance education. He holds his Property, Casualty, Life, and Health License. Russell stays informed having most recently completed the requirements for the elite Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter Designation ( CPCU ) in 2010. He already completed the requirements for the Certified Risk Manager ( CRM ), Certified Insurance Counselor ( CIC ), and Associate in Management (A IM) designations. Russell applies his experience when servicing and advising our customers. While he strives to provide fast, reliable service, his main priority is providing an accurate response to your insurance inquiries.
