It is the only such clinic in Ogden and one of the largest in the state. The Ogden Clinic was first organized in 1950 by eight physicians who had previously carried on independent practices. These men were farsighted practitioners who felt that by pooling their resources they could achieve certain advantages. To quote the initial partnership agreement they drafted, "The purpose of this partnership shall be to form an association for the group practice of medicine in order to provide better medical care for the public, facilitate more efficient medical training and practice and permit opportunities for research and study by the members."From its modest beginning fifty years ago, the clinic has become a well-recognized group of medical specialists who provide high quality care. In addition to providing primary care services to many families, the clinic serves as a referral center for specialty coverage for metropolitan Ogden, Weber County, Box Elder County, Morgan County, Northern Davis County, Western Wyoming and Southern Idaho (a drawing area exceeding 250 thousand). Clinic physicians practice in both local hospitals, McKay Dee Hospital and Ogden Regional Medical Center. In addition, the physicians perform outpatient surgery at the Mount Ogden Surgical Center.
