Description

Le Corre studied art in Paris (with such greats as Paul Colin and Ferdinand Leger) but found himself homesick for Brittany, so he enrolled in the fine arts school in Quimper. He later became a professor at the same school, a position he maintained from 1952 until his death in 1979. His initial trials at art pottery were at the HB factory where he met fellow artist Giovanni Leonardi; but he was soon drawn by the relative freedom of expression offered at the new Keraluc pottery, so in September of 1948, Le Corre began his collaboration with the Keraluc pottery.
