David Makanani is a co-founder of OMEDtech. For 36 years, David’s career has been focused primarily in managing and developing medical devices through the Regulatory, Quality and Clinical Processes. Approximately 10 years of this experience was with the FDA specializing in medical device requirements. Prior to OMEDtech, he was the Senior Vice President for Clinical and Regulatory Affairs for Soundtec, a medical device startup with a unique implantable hearing system. David implemented and directed the company’s clinical program and regulatory process to a successful approval of the company’s PreMarket Approval (PMA) application by the FDA. Makanani has held similar positions with Sulzer Intermedics, Incorporated and Biotronik, Incorporated, both manufacturers of implantable defibrillators and cardiac pacemakers, Sulzer CarboMedics, a manufacturer of implantable prosthetic heart valves, and Amnion, a manufacturer of blood recovery systems. David Makanani has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma.
