About One Legal One Legal, Inc. started operations in January, 1990 as Fax & File Legal Services and we operated under that name until April, 2003. In 1990, fax was the latest technology and we chose our name because it was very descriptive of our service. However, technology has changed over the past few years and so have we. As we transitioned to the Internet age, it became apparent that the name Fax & File was too restrictive and limited us in the minds of some. So, we re-named the company One Legal. We selected the new name because it is broad enough to cover the services we currently offer as well as ones to come. It also represents where we have been headed for a long time - a one-stop-shopping service for many of our customers' legal support needs.Currently, fax court filing remains the lion's share of our business. However, we now offer our customers more choices for doing business with us as well as more services. For example, customers can submit orders online, receive automatic updates as their order moves through our system or track their assignment online 24/7. This also applies to our service of process or court research assignments.Today, the One Legal network comprises 17 company-owned branches throughout California. They service our 10,000 customers that consist of law firms of all sizes, corporations, nationwide insurance carriers and state and local government agencies.
