About Ordas ADR Forged by over 35 years in the crucible of civil litigation, a unique approach to dispute resolution evolved. The lens though which to discern the risks of litigation was developed and polished in the trial of a broad spectrum of cases, including products liability (inter alia, toxics such as asbestos & lead), professional liability (legal, health care providers and insurance brokers), work place accidents, labor relations (including discrimination and harassment) and workers' compensation. By 1985, expanding caseloads, coupled with the Court's budgetary constraints, presented a challenge to the Court and trial bar. A committee consisting of members of the trial bar (including Dale Ordas) and the bench was formed to develop a civil arbitration program then a pro tem settlement conference program for the Sacramento Superior Court, which evolved into the Court's alternative dispute resolution program. Once the program was operational, his service as both arbitrator and pro tem settlement conference judge in hundreds of matters refined dispute resolution skills and developed new ones. The years in the dispute resolution trenches coupled with extensive training (over 230 hours undertaken since relocating to San Diego County) at the Strauss Institute at Pepperdine Law School, Loyola Law School and National Conflict Resolution Center, among others, have created a case seasoned skills set for dispute resolution.
