My Dad use to take me to Velatis for lunch when we were in Washington (they had a lunch area in the back of the store) and then we would take home a pound of candy. When I got married and moved to another state, he would send me a pound or two of Velatis once a month because he knew how much I enjoyed it. In the meantime, my father died. Years later when I returned home to live, the candy store was closed. While shopping in Woodward and Lothrop I found they were selling Velatis candy. What a surprise and what joy it brought me! Sadly to say, after a time there was no more Velatis and no more Woodies.
