The Osteoporosis Education Project (OEP) is a US tax-exempt, 501 (c) 3 non-profit research and osteoporosis education organization dedicated to the advancement of bone health world-wide. OEP is a division of Leading Edge Research, Inc. of East Syracuse, N.Y., USA.Susan E. Brown, Ph.D., and CCN founded the Osteoporosis Education Project in 1986. Between 1986 and 1996 the OEP focused its efforts on rethinking the nature, causes and best prevention and treatment of osteoporosis. Dr. Brown's book, Better Bones, Better Body, first published by Keats in 1996, presents our new groundbreaking perspectives.With the publication of Better Bones, Better Body, Dr. Brown was invited by various groups to lecture on nutritional and lifestyle approaches to bone health. In the intervening years she has made presentations in London, Rio de Janeiro, various cities within Canada and throughout the US.
