On Tuesday, November 9, 2010 from 2:00-3:30 p.m., PHTS will offer a webinar on Strategic Challenges for IT: Data Breaches, Information Security, & Cloud Computing. New regulations and advances in technology have made managing information-related risk an urgent and central need for healthcare organizations and their suppliers and business associates. Over the past year alone: Amid all this, IT systems have to respond to day-to-day challenges while preparing for transformational developments like “cloud computing.” These challenges require new approaches in safeguarding Protected Health Information. The stakes have never been higher. Specifically, your IT department needs tools to grapple with two overarching issues: This webinar will be of most interest to hospital senior management, legal counsel, information technology leaders, compliance officers, chief risk officers and risk managers. Faculty will include: Cliff Baker, chief strategy officer of HITRUST, specializes in information security, privacy, and compliance for healthcare organizations. Prior to joining HITRUST, he led PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Healthcare-Provider Security and HIPAA practice. Jon Neiditz, Esq., a partner in the Atlanta office of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP, is a graduate of Dartmouth College and Yale Law School. He approaches data breaches and information security issues as a risk manager, exploring and developing ways of resolving problems with a view to minimizing customer losses and preventing disputes. Sarah Stephens, assistant vice president in Aon Risk Services’ Financial Services Group, is responsible for broking Errors & Omissions Liability, Cyber/Privacy Liability, and Media Liability insurance policies for clients across the country. A graduate of Duke University, Ms. Stephens co-authored a leading white paper on Healthcare Privacy Liability which is widely distributed to Aon prospects and clients.
