Description
IDC research indicates that 70+% of software development failures are due to poor gathering and management of requirements, while a 2008 study by QSMA Associates showed that projects organized for agile development deliver products 37% faster to market, with 16% greater productivity, than industry averages. The desire for fewer failures and speedier success is driving the rapid adoption of the Scrum process framework, and the increasing need for Scrum Masters who can make agile projects successful. Scrum is designed from the start to improve responsiveness to customer needs, reduce wastage, and reduce time to market. Experienced project managers bring valuable skills to agile projects, but can find the terminology and practices of Scrum bewildering. This course not only presents the principles of Scrum in terms that make sense to project managers, but also provides extensive hands-on training in the day-to-day work of managing Scrum projects. Part 1 of this course (Training and Practice) provides theory and hands-on exercises needed to master the skills required for Scrum projects. Part 2 of this course (Executing the Project) guides the class through the planning, execution, tracking, and termination of a real Scrum project. Students planning to attend Part 2 should attend Part 1 first. Become one of the few who really understand how to do Scrum, and position yourself for success in this growing market! Please bring your own calculator for the workshop. This workshop will give more of a pragmatic approach to apply Agile knowledge for projects to be successful. This is not a CSM training and will not provide eligibility for a Scrum Master exam.
