Rob Harris, founder, President and CEO of Pacific Market International (PMI) is an early pioneer of China and Southeast Asia based contract manufacturing. He started PMI in 1983 with a vision to help American importers find reliable factories in Southeast Asia. His experiences are legendary and have been the subject of numerous articles and talks on subjects ranging from Starting and Growing a Business for Long term Shareholder Value; Principals over Profit; Making Sustainable Business Practices a Priority; China as the World Economic Growth Engine; Ethical Investing in China, and many others.

Our reports follow the Global Reporting Iniative's 3.1 reporting tool, adhering to the operational control GHG and resource accounting method. We have included both our owned and leased property: our offices and our joint venture factory, PMI Joinease. We have also included four of our contracted partner factories. As we continue to encourage our partner factories to collect Key Performance Indicator (KPI) data, the scope of our reports will expand.

Business partnerships that champion great factories are why PMI factories have some of the highest employee retention rates in China. Since 1998, PMI has worked with its factory partners on social improvements that deliver increased worker health and retention benefits. PMI also encourages and supports its factories in creating social programs in both the company facilities and the surrounding communities.

We are committed to creating innovative products that excite our consumers. Part of this innovation focuses on designs that reduce the environmental impact of our products. Leveraging Life Cycle Assessments, we are taking additional steps to better understand the impact of our products and how we can fuel stewardship in our design.
