For over 35 years, whether sitting around the kitchen table, teaching in my home studio or traveling across the globe, I've been touched by the warm enthusiasm, encouragement and support of painters like you. Thank you for allowing me to share my love of painting with you; I appreciate your friendship and support! I attribute the beginning of my creative life to my mother, Laura, who was a very strong-willed and gifted woman. Once she had a vision of something in her mind she became determined to make it a reality! A bag of "perfectly good" rummage sale bargains became school clothes for me; the left-over fabric became matching outfits for my dolls; the remaining scraps went into hand braided rugs. My mismatched bedroom furniture was magically transformed with coats of white paint and colorful Peter Hunt peasant designs - all passionately applied by my mother's hand. I can recall many hours spent in my special room designing and making paper dolls, reading and dreaming, or writing and illustrating stories. Today, my hours are filled with designing and painting, teaching and studying, enjoying friends and family, and living a thankful life in response to the many blessings, gifts and opportunities I've received. "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing." John 15.5
