Panama Rocks Park was established in 1885. It has always been privately owned and operated. NOTE: AS OF OCTOBER 18, 2009 PANAMA ROCKS PARK CLOSED FOR THE SEASON THE PARK IS NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AT THIS TIME WE ARE SCHEDULED TO REOPEN IN MID MAY, 2010 The Park consists of 12 acres Of an Erupted Paleozoic Seashore Originating Over 300 Million Years Ago. There are 200 to 300 year old Hemlocks, and seven other species of venerable trees, including beech, black cherry, red maple, and sugar maple, some trees having diameters of over three feet. The way that tree roots grow down and around the rocks adds a special uniqueness and character to this forest. Autumn is a special time at Panama Rocks Park.
