Panax, was the first US Company, utilizing a Video PBX (VideoTwist), to provide interactive video, audio, and digital control over unshielded twisted pair (UTP) wiring. The first application was video distribution and media retrieval in the education market. As video applications evolved, the open architecture of VideoTwist, provided a path for expansion. New solutions included Prison Video Visitation, Court Arraignment, Video on Demand, Hospital Patient Education, Video Surveillance, and Distance Learning. New applications are; the continuing education of troubled student’s removed from the classroom and remote prison visitation. Removed students are taught their core class material, and interact with their teacher, from an off site location. Remote prison visitation provides a mechanism that minimizes travel, increases safety for the prison, and a shared revenue stream.
