Panelwrights was established in 2000 as an LLC. Panelwrights is a full service distributor of Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs). We provide complete panel packages as well as assistance with design, engineering, HVAC specification, and our award winning Installation services. We are considered one of the most experienced SIP installers in the country. We provide SIPs manufactured by various manufacturers. We only provide panels from manufacturers that have a recognized level of quality and customer service. The products and services we offer are an integral part of our "system-approach" to providing superior structure. Our services include Sales, Installation, "Tech-Assist", Design, Engineering, and Consulting. Panelwrights Provides Sales & Service from our main office in Shenandoah Junction, WV.

PanelWrights is a full-service distributor of Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs). We provide complete SIP packages with quality installations for Residential projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Our Commercial Division works Nationwide.

PanelWrights takes complete advantage of the CNC machinery capabilities of our SIP manufacturers to provide the most precisely cut SIP package possible. In addition to completely pre-cutting all of the SIPs, we also provide all of the lumber required within the SIPs which includes bottom plates, top plates, door and window bucks, corner boards, posts, headers, etc. Not only is this lumber package shipped with the SIPs, whatever can be pre-installed in the factory is. This package is what we call Ready To Assemble (RTA). If you are comparing our price to another SIP supplier and you find a huge discrepancy, check for this service first.

We provide this simple formula to allow you a way to calculate a “ball park” cost estimate in the planning stage of your project. The formulas used are based on averages and each individual design will vary depending on style, location, panel usage, etc. This calculation is based on an average size structure (1,800 – 3,000 sf of living space) – do not use these figures for additions as the cost for these vary greatly. 1. Calculate total wall area by multiplying the length of the wall times it’s height and add all wall groups together.

SIP homes require no special roofing materials. Fiberglass, asphalt, wood and metal are all suitable, but check the manufacturer's warranty before you buy fiberglass or asphalt shingles. Some shingle manufacturers have been hesitant about warranting their product when applied to un-vented roof systems, claiming that un-vented roofs could produce high shingle temperatures and thereby reducing shingle life. However, recent studies at the University of Illinois and the Florida Solar Energy Center concluded that roof ventilation has little or no effect on shingle or sheathing temperature (Energy Design Update, Nov. 1990). This has not produced an overnight change in all shingle makers' warranties, but shop around. There are several shingle manufacturers that offer full warranties on both vented and un-vented roofs.
