Since 1965 the Patterson Law Firm has been providing legal services to Iowa residents. The firm was founded by Gerald Patterson and James Lorentzen with the original name "Patterson & Lorentzen." They were located in the Insurance Exchange Building, where the firm continues to be located today. Our attorneys live and work in the area and are committed to community service. The Patterson Law Firm has received the highest possible rating from Martindale-Hubbell, and is included in the Martindale-Hubbell Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers.

The Patterson Law Firm handles all aspects of residential real estate sales for our clients, including quiet title actions, title opinions, clearing liens and matters arising out of the buying and selling of all real property interests. In a standard home closing, a buyer and seller negotiate, then sign a contract to buy or sell a home. A title search is conducted. If necessary, financing is secured, and the transaction soon proceeds to closing. At closing, a deed passes ownership of the property from the seller to the buyer in exchange for the purchase price.

We are conveniently located in Des Moines, Iowa, near the courthouse, and we provide legal services throughout Iowa.
