Payroll People Inc. (PPI) was established in 1981 in response to a call from community-based banks for a service-first automated payroll processing, and employer tax payment and file outsourcing provider. From original concept to the achievement of becoming the largest independent payroll processor in California, our founders have sought to provide the industry standard for quality service and client satisfaction. In action, this ideal has resulted in PPI offering far more customization of product and service to meet individual needs than is the norm in our industry; a unique philosophy that continues to drive the mission of PPI today.In 1981, the original three founders of PPI, along with a staff of two additional service and systems experts commenced operations in central California. Currently, PPI operates a payroll division, a nation-wide employer tax pay and file division, and a software development company which are comprised of nearly 100 employees serving clients located throughout the nation.Early on, PPI recognized the utilization of advanced technology for data processing as the key to evolving the traditional checks and register payroll processing model into an employer solutions provider. PPI has consistently invested in automated systems and software development to manage data processing, meet compliance regulations, and deliver employee-focused benefit products, using payroll and electronic tax pay and file as the vehicle for the delivery of value-added products and services.
