Since our 1956 founding, we have successfully carried out our mission statement by providing innovative products and services resulting in increased member loyalty.Pelican State Credit Union was originally chartered as the Department of Hospitals Credit Union, which was located in downtown Baton Rouge. Our main membership served Louisiana Charity Hospitals, Mental Health Centers and State Office Personnel. In 1988 we amended our name to "Pelican State Credit Union" and began to diversify our field of membership.
