Helping people with peripheral vascular disease can be very challenging because of all the different organ systems that are affected. The patients often have multiple specialists and multiple appointments. Our vision at PVA is to provide the patient with expert care and a full range of services to help the patients during their hospitalizations, their office visits and their therapy at home. After 20 years, many changes have come to the field of medicine, but focusing on the best interest of the patient is still the mainstay of our practice.

Between 8 to 10 million Americans are estimated to suffer from poor blood flow to the arms, legs and feet potentially leading to vascular disease, stroke, amputation or worse. Blood vessels supply oxygen and nutrition to every part of your body. When this flow is interrupted it can lead to a serious condition called peripheral arterial disease or PAD. Vascular surgeons are the only specialists extensively trained to provide the full range of treatment options including medical management, minimally invasive endovascular therapy, and traditional surgery.

Founded in 1975, in San Antonio, Texas, Peripheral Vascular Associates has become the largest single specialty vascular surgery group in North America.
