Welcome to Perkins Agency. We have been providing insurance service to individuals and businesses in the State of New Hampshire for over 50 years. We pride ourselves as a stable, long-term agency providing friendly, prompt service to our customers and being a good community partner. HISTORY In January 1948 John Albert Perkins bought the Frank P Smith Agency of Nottingham, NH, a charter agent for Farm Bureau Insurance, and operated the business out of his home on Route 152 in Nottingham, NH. April 1, 1952, he took on a partner and opened an office in Exeter, NH, The Perkins & Prescott Agency. Then in 1959, John A Perkins purchased the Griffin Agency Incorporated of Newmarket, NH and merged the F.J. Durell Agency with theGriffin Agency in 1963. TheGriffin Agency soon outgrew it's quarters and a new office building was erected at 218 So. Main Street in 1964. In 1967 the Perkins & Prescott partnership dissolved and Mr. Prescott remained in Exeter, NH, eventually selling to Collishaw Agency. John A Perkins consolidated his share of the partnership to the Newmarket office and in 1969 changed the name to Perkins Agency Incorporated In the next few years, the MacFarlane Agency of Epping, the Partridge Agency of Newfields, and the Linscott Agency of Northwood were all purchased and merged into the Perkins Agency. In 1974, John E Perkins and Lynne Perkins Sweet (son and daughter of John A), who had both been working for the agency, took ownership of the business and John A Perkins retired. In 1997, the BoChaine's Agency of Newmarket was purchased and merged into Perkins Agency Incorporated The Agency continues to grow and prosper as a family owned business. Organizational Structure: The Perkins Agency Incorporated is a corporation organized under the laws of the State of New Hampshire.
