When we started doing all of this we already had been supporting Linux systems for over 5 years. Mambo at the time was the best CMS available, Today Joomla has greatly surpassed Mambo in all respects.

We've been building websites for a very long time, originally we used only Microsoft notepad and were writing all our own HTML. Then we started paying around with Dreamweaver, Coffecup and a few other webpage builders. But in 2001 we found Mambo as it was first coming out. That was Sept of 2001 and in 2005 it forked and when it did we migrated to Joomla in Sept of 2005 which ended our development using the Mambo project. The first version of Joomla came out and since that time its evolved into an incredible system. When we started doing all of that we already had been supporting Linux systems for over 5 years.
