In December 1995, a Third Generation in Christopher Cavanagh, joined Petri’s and continues to oversee the daily operations through today. Petri serves all of Broward County and has continued to expand our service territory north into Palm Beach County over the past several years. Through the many years that Petri has been serving South Florida the company has gone through tremendous change and progression. Technology has affected the pest management industry in many positive ways, enabling Petri to improve our communications as well as our delivery of service and response to our customers.

Petri’s Positive Pest Control was founded by Henry C. Petri in Miami Beach, Florida in 1956. Mr. Petri served as President of the Florida Pest Control Association from 1962-1963 and in 1978 as President of Associated Pest Control, a small, elite, international association. In June of 1990, Hank Petri was honored and presented the Pioneer Award at the Florida Pest Control Association’s annual convention for his contributions and sincere dedication to the pest control industry in the State of Florida. Although Mr.

Petri’s Positive Pest Control Inc. is a family owned and operated, full service pest solution provider founded by Henry C. Petri in 1956 in Miami Beach. Today Petri services Broward and Palm Beach Counties under a second and third generation of the family in Brendan E. Cavanagh and Christopher G. Cavanagh. Petri’s mission is to create a continually expanding, satisfied customer base by delivering expert quality service that people can depend on for their homes and businesses. Just like lawns in South Florida, many of our trees and ornamental plants are also susceptible to insects and disease and therefore should be treated on a regular basis as well. Popular shrubs and trees such as Ixoras and Hibiscuis are commonly infected with various aphids, scale, mealy bugs, beetles, and caterpillars. A schedule of 4 to 6 spray applications per year is recommended in most cases. Trees and ornamentals also require timed fertilizations throughout the year to provide the nutrients they need.
