Almost 60 years ago, Ed Phillips, Sr. decided to use his 23 years of railroad experience working with student tour groups to start his own student travel company. In 1953 he started Phillips Tours/Teen Tours by Phillips and shortly thereafter Phillips Travel Service, Inc. was born. He led the way in the Educational Student Travel Industry in the Midwest by offering the best in personal service, creating unique and affordable itineraries, and assuring the safety and welfare of students as they traveled. His passion to offer students and performers the opportunity to learn as they travel is the mainstay of what we continue to offer. As we moved our family business along after my Father’s passing, I have continued to maintain our focus on education and value for our students. Our membership in NTA (National Tour Association) and in SYTA (Student & Youth Travel Association) have assisted us in doing this. These organizations not only allow us to grow professionally but to remain on the cutting edge of new destinations, attractions and performance venues for You- our clients.
