Phoenix Recycling opened on Earth Day 2004 in order to meet the increasing demand for meaningful landfill diversion. Since our inception, we have recycled hundreds of thousands of tons worth of valuable materials. Phoenix has been an industry leader in the development of new markets. We recently expanded our process in order to manufacture an engineered biomass product that replaces coal for power generation and heat producing facilities. Phoenix Recycling offers local contractors and homeowners the ability to recycle waste that would otherwise be needlessly buried in our local landfill. We have a state of the art recovery facility that allows you to get more out of your fleet. Conveniently located just south of Ankeny, we are easily accessible from anywhere in the Metro Area. Phoenix is a state licensed facility that is LEED compliant and can assist in meeting certain criteria for certification. See more in the LEED section. Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00AM - 4:00PM Closed Saturday, Sundays, and Holidays The Technology Association of Iowa (TAI) Honors Phoenix Recycling The Technology Association of Iowa (TAI) honored Iowa’s one of a kind facility, Phoenix Recycling of Des Moines with the prestigious Prometheus Award last night (April 6, 2010). The recycling facility located at 4764 NE 22nd St. was named the Green Company of the Year in the inaugural year of the award. The TAI presents these awards to companies that exemplify advancements in technology in a number of categories. Phoenix Recycling is a waste processing company that accepts materials that would otherwise be needlessly landfilled. In turn, they capture valuable commodities and manufacture an engineered alternative fuel product for utilization at energy and heat producing facilities. The facility accomplishes this through the operation of their state of the art processing system.
