August 2010 - PlanChoice begins it's 23rd year in business on August 6th. Thanks to the hundreds of brokers as well as past and current employees for helping us grow our company. July 2010 - PlanChoice re-enters the Cleveland, Ohio market with the opening of an office in Solon, Ohio. The new office will be managed by Dan Feiwell who has been in the group employee benefits insurance industry since 1986 with the first 11 years spent in underwriting and sales since 1997. Prior to Dan starting Sirius Benefits Consulting, he was a successful group representative for both Fort Dearborn Life (Dearborn Life) and The Standard. Dan has a tremendous understanding of the voluntary and ancillary marketplace. June 2010 - We are announcing today that PlanChoice will host a forum on ObamaCare titled 'What HealthCare Reform Means for Your Business' on September 9th at the Crown Plaza in Louisville, KY. April 2010 - On April 8, 2010, Ingham County (Michigan) Circuit Court Judge William E. Collette issued a Rehabilitation Order placing American Community Mutual Insurance Company ("American Community") into RehabilitaRegulation ("OFIR") as the company's Rehabilitator. Rehabilitation is a corporate reorganization under Chapter 81 of the Michigan Insurance Code that is conducted under the supervision of the Ingham County Circuit Court. The Rehabilitation Order allows OFIR to ascertain American Community’s financial condition and implement steps to protect American Community policyholders and creditors. April 2010 - Companion Life announces PlanChoice as their 2009 General Agent of the Year. This makes the 8th GA of the Year award PlanChoice has earned from Companion in the past 16 years. February 2010 - PlanChoice announces an 5% broker bonus for 2010 American General group business.
