In 1988, entrepreneur John R. Burt (the founder of the Duro-Last® single-ply roofing system) created a new business venture: Plastatech Engineering, Ltd. The intent of this new company was to provide a world class roofing membrane for the Duro-Last roofing system. Under the leadership of John's daughter, Kathy L. Allen, a talented team of professionals experienced in PVC formulation and production was assembled. A state-of-the-art calendering, knitting, laminating, and coating facility was then built in Saginaw, Michigan.

Plastatech® Engineering, Ltd. is a responsive, close-knit family-owned and operated business, dedicated to ensuring the success of our customers by providing the highest quality calendered and PVC-based films, knitted fabrics, and laminates.

Plastatech® Engineering, Ltd. has been a proud American manufacturer since its inception in 1988. We are part of the JRB family of companies, a Michigan-based, diverse group of companies specializing in the manufacturing of high-quality building and industrial products.

Oscoda Plastics manufactures accessories for the Duro-Last roofing system; PROTECT-ALL Commercial Flooring, which is perfect for commercial kitchen floors, walkways, gymnasiums, multi-purpose rooms, and veterinary offices; and PROFLEX® Vinyl Expansion Joints, which are excellent for driveways, pools/spas, drains, main holes, curbs, and radius work. These product lines are made from 100% post-industrial vinyl.

Plastatech® Engineering, Ltd. manufactures calendered PVC films, weft-inserted textiles, reinforced and non-reinforced geomembranes, and laminated vinyl fabrics.
