Description

Porches on the Towpath is nestled in the heart of New Hope, Pennsylvania, in historic Bucks County. The house is a white-washed Federal brick structure that was built in 1830 as a granary. For sixty years it was the home of the Reading family. In the 1930s "Pop" Reading's sandwich shop was a local gathering place. That sense of community still exists in New Hope today, and Porches reflects the warmth and spirit of small town charm and hospitality.New Hope and the surrounding areas of Bucks County have long been considered a mecca for the arts, antiques and shopping. New Hope and its sister city Lambertville offer an enchanting mixture of galleries, antique shops, fine restaurants and specialty shops. Take in a show at a local theater, or listen to live music at a local club. Indulge in a horse-drawn carraige ride, go on a ghost tour, ride the historic Mule Barge, or take a trip on the steam locomotive of the New Hope-Ivyland Railroad. Or simply relax in Porches' quiet gardens, shown here.
